Through the eye of a needle
Through a narrow mind
Ugly rumour kills the humour every time
I could follow the leader
I could follow the healer
I the witness i the undersigned
Let history rewrite itself
Your childhood hero is with you every step
Yet history repeats itself
Is this about as far as it will get
Carve it on your headstone
Carve it in the dust
Steel yourself and slowly rust away
The stakes are high
And i am wobbling
Its bigger than even i could have imagined
So how much will you wager
In my hometown i am a stranger
And i cant think of a stranger place to be
Down on don’t care corner
They say somebody is a gonner
All the same its all a shame to me

Behind closed doors
They are preoccupied
Indecision clouds the vision every time
I cannot call out
I cannot reach out
Silent witness by design
As history reminds myself
As if another time another place
As mockery revealed itself
Its a given given space
I broke it to the mirror
One of us will crack
Lighten up and slowly fade away
