My life in just over 3 minutes.. strange, it semed longer

I was there when I was born, it seemed only right
I was there when I first went to school, I was there for my first fight
I was there when I failed my exams, ’cause I was there for my first joint
And I was ther for my first mugging when I was robbed at knife point

I was there for my first whisky, and I’ve been there again and again
I was there for my first kiss and I wish I could be again
I was there when I first got laid, I was there when she asked to be paid
I was there at the clinic when my dick got first aid

I was there when I started my first job, but not for very long
I was there when I discovered income tax and how it seemed wrong
I was there when I first got married, I wish I’d stayed at away
But I was there when my daughter was born, so it all turned out OK

I was there when I lived in Italy, and I was there with me on the beach
I was there when the money ran out and English I had to teach
I was there when I bought a yacht and I was there when I learnt to sail
And I was there when I broke the bloody mast in a gale

I was there when my father died, I was there when my wife died too
I was there when I was homeless I was there when I was feeling blue
I was there when I cheered myself up playing silly songs on the guitar
I was there when I wrote this song to tell you how it’s been so far

Well I’m here now getting older, but no wiser it would seem
I wear rose coloured glasses, and spend my life in a dream
I’ll be there at the end, whenever that will be
But if any of you want to take my place just e-mail me
