1970 something? I got my draft card and headed down to the friendly local draft office. There i was checked up and down. And then last stop the shrink! I was asked many questions.But the one question asked that i will not ever forget was. "Have you had any brothers and sisters killed in Vietnam." My reply was simply YES!
Yes sir... EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM......

The shrink looked up from his frozen stare with pen ready to mark me Able to fight and die..You see he couldnt face another Human being he was about to send to his death by stating and marking the form i was able to fight...That answer i gave him...He looked up at me and said you can go now..nothing further is needed from you...wow boy oh boy i was set free..

I went back to being me a hippie, and protesting that LIE that fucked up War. Protesting when and where i could speaking out to help bring an end to Vietnam and bring our brothers and sisters home....

A movie that will reveal one big protest i was at...Born on the 4th of July...theres a protest at the end of that movie..Was teh Republican Convention at Miami Beach Convention Center. Brother the Miami Beach , Miami Police and the national Guard threw everyting they had at us that night.Many were gased, bloodied, and dragged by their hair like wild animals.....arrested and beaten some more..

We were PEACEFULLY parked on the lawns protesting the WAR.. thats all ..PEACEFULLY!! UNTIL all hell broke loose on the floor of the Republican Convention.. Confrontation started by the Nixonite Republicans Warmongers! Many young men, woman, just teens we were, and many Vietnam Vets against the War that day shed blood to stop any further blood shed in Vietnam.If we hadn’t.. and if others hadn’t before us.. i wonder how long the Wall of Black would have been in the end...and how many more names would be in white....
