For many years this song was never off our minds. Then like many other great songs it disappeared. I’m pleased that it is now ’acceptable’ to play it again as not only was it a great tune but a great observation. Its images fitted any city in any country. Your rendition was a fine example of why it should be sung again. I wish that my guitar technique could do it justice. Thanks for sharing.

Its one of the few songs I can sing without looking at the words, perhaps because those words vividly describe the scene and characters..I am a visual learner. I particularly like roadbikejulia’s version of this. I’m told that, like many folk singers, RMcT hated people asking him to sing this later on as he felt he had moved on. I don’t see any shame in continuing to sing your signature song as part of a show.
