When Stanley Kubrick died his estate in Childwick Bury, near St Albans, was filled with boxes containing a carefully filed archive gathered up during Kubrick’s life: including scripts, research, correspondence, costumes, props, models, production schedules, photography, books and film equipment.
Stanley Kubrick was an American filmmaker. Having become interested in photography in as a teen, he became a staff photographer for Look magazine at age 17. His directorial debut came in 1957 with the film Paths of Glory. All of his movies express a formal visual style and meticulous attention to detail. His most memorable works include Dr. Strangelove, 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange and The Shining.
