Steve probably has the best Hendrix tone of anybody I’ve heard and his playing abilities are top notch. But he doesn’t have the look to pull off a full impression. He only wears his hair as a ”Fro”, because his hair is curly and out of control. He never wanted to do a full impression, ... except, maybe for your ears. He likes to show that he can play it like the record or that he can improvise too. Sometimes a little of each. It depends on the song. His black hair is from his 3/8 Native American roots, but he’s also 4/8 British and 1/8th Austrian. He’s been trying to play like Jimi since the first time he heard the album, ”Are You Experienced?”.
