(Social/Political rock) from Charlotte, NC. Mission For Pete started in late 2005 as nothing more than a desire to create something different from the normal cookie cutter drone that was being played on radio and television alike. However, through a love for music Mission For Pete started to evolve into something more than just a hobby. Hoping to pay tribute to bands such as Pink Floyd, The Doors, Black Sabbath and some of the early nineties rock sound, Thomas Bennett and Matt Owens continued to write the tracks and lyrics that would eventually become five ”albums” each consisting of ten songs. M.F.P., Self-Enlisted, Fool’s Brigade, IV, and Fifth Strategy. Striving for a sound unique unto them, Thomas and Matt have used influences such as blues, metal, punk, and grunge as well as socially charged and insightful lyrics to create music that was very personal yet universal at the same time. Currently Mission For Pete is working on a sixth ”album” and it looks as though there is no end in sight for these two. As long as a desire to create music exists so to will the Mission.
