A Small note,
Most of my music is created with Music 2000 (MTV Music maker) and Cakewalk Kinetic, these allow seperate notes to be placed in succession , of different instruments, to create the finished song, I also use drum samples . so instead of playing the piece it is created in step time , one note at a time. Although some of the samples are box standard configuration of notes , most have been modified to create a new sample, unique to the song been written. All note parameteres can be changed individually.
So at the start there is a blank canvass, and slowly but surely the song is created.
Then of course there are the parts that have been played live , that`s where you come in to the equation !!!
Most collaborations work that way for me, because the song has allready been created, although I have added embellishments to peoples work who have for instance done an acoustic/singing number (BPM is a restriction if the original does not keep fairly rough time),BUT having said that, i can manipulate verse chorus, etc and change the key, but it is very hard to reverse engineer the completed mix (thats if I still have the files to complete the task.
Tin Pan Alley for instance was written in 1999 / 2000 and all the constituent parts no longer exist, I can add to it at any time , or maybe someone can add some guitar licks to it, but taking anything away from the mix is practically impossible.(unless I remove a particular part for example 20secs - 30secs of the mix and then sync the beat)

If anybody wishes to add some guitar or vocals etc, just ask . I would be honoured to remix the track and add any video input to the mix. Of course this goes for all my work.

Most of my most recent musik has been assembled using Sony Acid Pro 7, this is a platform of channels enabling sync , rather like midi in live performance. This program allows many different kinds of manipulation right down to changing the pitch of the soundwave of a single note or Riff allready played. Each note can be placed in exactly the prefered place, to achieve almost perfection after mistakes have been made. Some would say ”oh yeah anybody can do that” well trust me it`s not as easy as it sounds.
When it comes to the final mix, each channel can have FX added to enhance the sound reverb, chorus, flange, phase, time delay , etc etc etc the list goes on and on, thus creating the final Master. I have assosiated my cakewalk kinetic program (which has Roland synth FX) with the Sony Acid Pro 7 creating endless modification possibilities.
